During our 30+ year history SCI has provided the healthcare community with IT consultants for McKesson’s HealthQuest Products (Patient Management, Patient Accounting and Medical Records), Interface Engine components, and General Electric’s Centricity (ORMIS) software. While existing friendships are important, of even greater value is the working knowledge and extensive experience we have with many hospitals’ current IT environments. There are no HealthQuest areas that SCI consultants have not touched in terms of installation, modification, or support, which provides us with the ability to hit the ground running and to address any additional requirements that may arise. This ability, combined with the value of our working relationships, has enabled us to consistently meet objectives and to continue to address future needs for our clients.

In the course of providing consulting and technical services to HealthQuest clients, SCI has:
• Provided assistance with every HealthQuest version upgrade beginning with version 2.0. This experience includes Project Management, modification analysis and installs, and programming and testing in both Guarantor and Non-Guarantor environments.
• Developed and continues to support a Consolidated Statement software product designed to function in the Non-Guarantor environment.
• Acquired detailed knowledge and experience with Michigan Billing regulations and nuances.
• Developed and implemented the first Physician Line Item Billing system product, which became the template for the “base” product modification by McKesson.
• Created the automatic HMO contractual write-off process at Henry Ford Health System prior to this function being offered as a part of the base product.
• Performed multiple migrations from other hospital software applications to HealthQuest including adding new entities to existing HealthQuest systems.
• Modified and simplified financial reports for business offices that helped reduce gross days of revenue in A/R.
• Streamlined the Michigan Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaire to help accelerate the payment process.
• Redesigned Medicare Insurance collection processes and designed the Medicare Advantage system, effectively reducing on-line “Abends” dramatically.
• Developed techniques to help prevent the creation of duplicate patients during the registration process, as well as techniques to help prevent siblings from being detected as potential duplicate patients in Patient Management.
• Developed “Fault Tolerance” to aid in reducing revenue cycle delays.
• Developed “Shadow” Patient Management files for use in the revenue cycle, resulting in virtually zero Patient Management downtime.
• Developed and implemented “search” and “formatting” utilities for HL-7 messages.
• Developed programs for copying PM, PA and MR records from production files to test files with all demographic data modified in a repeatable but non-reversible manner to protect patient privacy.
• Developed programs to track changes to Patient Management data, identifying when and by whom the data was modified.
• Created databases and reports for Patient Accounting administration and JCAHO extract routines.
• Developed an in-house program that included an Audit function to improve cycle times, data verification and clean up, and extracts and reports, effectively replacing an existing vendor’s interface software.
• Developed a process to extract data to an external organization that would re-evaluate certain accounts for insurance payments, patient payments, and provide assistance in the collection process. This partnership produced significant value to the participating hospital.
